OUT THE DOOR OF MERCY
We turn to the left. Before us appears the Pieta, a copy of the one found in S. Pietro in Vaticano. Mary is very young. It is the Church that welcomes the gift of Jesus’ death, which redeems us and makes us “young”, because God will forgive us in the shows that you are in love with the beauty of the creatures (St. Catherine of Siena). In other words: forgive because he loves.
The Pieta is placed in the background that presents Mary rising to heaven.
We contemplate Jesus. He has received from the Father the mission “to reveal the mystery of divine love in its fullness. “God is love” (1 Jn 4,8.16), he states for the first and only time in all of Sacred Scripture the evangelist John. This love is now made visible and tangible in the whole life of Jesus. His person is nothing but love, a love that is offered for free. … Signs that performs, especially towards sinners, the poor, the excluded, the sick and suffering, are in the name of mercy. Everything in him speaks of mercy. Nothing in him is devoid of compassion. “
Let us pray in silence. We ask forgiveness for our sins and those of those who are far from God. We thank the Lord always take so well, despite everything.
The culmination of Mercy paths leads us in front of the copy of the Vatican Pietà. It ‘was a miracle that made by Michelangelo, who was able to transform a block of marble in a light block. The Pietà came to us thanks to David Newren, of ArteDivine, who behaved like the great patrons of the story. Thanks to him we can contemplate this unparalleled masterpiece. Thanks to him this masterpiece makes us move. Thanks to him this masterpiece urges us to conversion.
